On some Android devices, system settings may limit how apps run in the background.
To ensure timely and reliable notifications from Brosix, we recommend reviewing the Android settings below.
1. Enable notifications
Go to:
Settings → Apps → Brosix → Notifications
Make sure that:
- Allow notifications is enabled
- Notification importance is set to High or Default
- All notification categories are enabled
2. Disable battery optimization (important)
Go to:
Settings → Apps → Brosix → Battery
Set battery usage to:
- Unrestricted
or remove Brosix from Battery optimization / Restricted apps
Android may stop apps running in the background to save battery, which can delay notifications until the app is opened again.
3. Allow background data usage
Go to:
Settings → Apps → Brosix → Mobile data & Wi-Fi
Make sure:
- Background data is enabled
- Unrestricted data usage is enabled
- Data Saver is not blocking Brosix
4. Disable app sleep or pause options
Go to:
Settings → Apps → Brosix
Make sure that:
- Pause app activity if unused is disabled
- Brosix is NOT listed under Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps
Some Android devices automatically put unused apps to sleep, which prevents them from receiving messages.
Optional checks (device-specific)
Depending on your device manufacturer, you may also find these options helpful:
- Auto-start / Background launch
Settings → Apps → Brosix → Allow auto-launch or background start - Do Not Disturb / Focus mode
Make sure Brosix notifications are allowed during Do Not Disturb or Focus modes
Final step
After changing the settings:
- Open the Brosix app
- Keep it open for a few seconds
- Send or receive a test message
This helps re-establish the background connection.
