Control IP addresses allowed to Login

You can control the IP addresses from which your users can login Brosix applications. In many cases an IP Address is tied with a location. So if you control the IP Address from which a user can login, you actually control the location they can login from.

For example, if you want to make sure your users can only login from your offices, you can add their IP addresses to Brosix “White List”.

IP Addresses List

There are two types of lists you can set for your IP Addresses with Brosix:

  1. Black List – every IP Address in the list will be blocked. Users will not be able to login from it.
  2. White List – users are able to login only from the IP addresses in the list.

Global IP Address Permissions

You can set either a Black List or a White List for your entire IM Network. This rule will be applied to all of your users.

  1. Go to Web Control Panel – Settings – Security
  2. Go to the “IP Address Permissions” section

IP Address Permissions for each user

You can set either a Black List or a White List for a specific user. This rule will be applied only to this user regardless of the global rule.

  1. Go to Web Control Panel – Users – User Accounts
  2. Click on the user you want to manage
  3. Go to the “Security” tab
  4. Go to the “IP Address Permissions” section

NOTE

Some Internet providers may change your office or home IP Address without an advance notification. If your office IP Address is added in a “White List”, and then it changed by the Internet provider, your users will not be able to login from that location. You will have to go to Web Control Panel and manually enter the new IP Address in order to allow them login.
