Optimizing Your Connection with Brosix
Brosix automatically chooses the best available connection method. In most cases, no firewall or router configuration is necessary.
However, in some network environments, especially those with strict firewall rules, manual configuration may be required to ensure proper connectivity.
When is Manual Configuration Necessary?
If your firewall or router blocks outgoing connections based on rules (e.g., port restrictions or IP filtering), you should allowlist Brosix server IPs and ports.
Required Settings
1. Outgoing TCP Connections
Allow outgoing connections to the following TCP ports for all Brosix servers:
- TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5222, 7150, 7151, 8150, 9150, 10150, 11150
2. UDP Connections
- Outgoing: Allow all outgoing UDP to all Brosix servers (any port).
- Incoming: Allow incoming UDP from all Brosix servers (any port).
Brosix Server IP Addresses
If your setup requires IP-based rules, allow outgoing and incoming traffic to/from the following IPs:
144.202.71.78
45.76.238.117
144.202.67.13
207.246.94.141
206.189.232.76
149.28.39.134
161.35.50.2
159.65.228.11
Recommended: Use Hostnames Instead of IPs
To avoid future maintenance when IPs change, we recommend using the following hostnames in your firewall or router rules:
www.brosix.com
db.brosix.com
db2.brosix.com
box-n2.brosix.com
box-n2-ls.brosix.com
stun.brosix.com
Recommended: Enable UPnP for Better Performance
If your router supports UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), enabling it for devices using Brosix can improve connection quality and reduce latency.
